@elonmusk @realDonaldTrump I appreciate anyone who publicly admits a mistake, it shows character. However, learning and growing by not repeating our errors is even better. Most all of us are guilty of similar conduct, so we do need to offer grace and mercy to those who humble themselves!

@FriscoPD When used as stated, it makes good sense... we need bad guys behind bars. As far as privacy, it's worth giving up a little... my thinking is if you're not breaking the law or a wanted criminal, what do you have to worry about! Good use of technology!

With a round of winter weather nearly upon us and the strong potential for snow and icy road conditions, please avoid travel if at all possible. If you must get out, follow these winter driving tips. Stay warm and #DriveFriendlyFrisco!

Congratulations @FriscoPD Detective Sanja Trtanj on being honored with the 2024 DA Greg Willis SuperSleuth Award! (One of just five awarded for 2024) 🔍🕵️ On January 29, 2021, a tragic incident shook the Frisco community. Multiple 911 reported shots fired at an apartment complex. Responding officers found a deceased 17-year-old girl and another critically injured victim outside the defendant’s apartment. Inside, the suspect, holding the murder weapon, claimed self-defense. While it would have been easy to establish probable cause and move the case to the District Attorney’s office, Detective Trtanj went above and beyond. Her meticulous investigation into the complex pre-existing relationships between the defendant and the victims unveiled critical nuances that became pivotal at trial. 📱 Innovative Evidence Gathering & Synthesis Det. Trtanj’s determination and expertise stood out in her handling of digital evidence. She and her team conducted extensive phone data extractions and combed through social media—a step that some detectives overlook or underutilize. But Det. Trtanj didn’t stop there. She compiled this vast data into an organized, user-friendly timeline that illustrated the events leading up to the tragedy down to the very second. One key discovery changed everything: a video showing the victim standing unarmed and non-aggressive outside the defendant’s door just moments before the first shots were fired. This video became a key element at trial, dismantling the self-defense claim and strengthening the case for justice. 💙 Impact Beyond the Badge The victim’s family, particularly her grieving mother, found solace in Det. Trtanj’s compassion and unwavering support. Her ability to develop trust and maintain open communication not only provided emotional relief but also laid a strong foundation for the legal process to move forward effectively. ⚖️ Why Det. Trtanj Stands Out What sets Det. Trtanj apart is her unmatched dedication and knowledge. She mastered every detail of the case, proving to be an invaluable resource during trial preparations. Her responsiveness, expertise, and tireless efforts ensured the prosecution team was equipped to present the strongest case possible. Det. Trtanj’s work reflects the very best of law enforcement—her combination of skill, determination, and heart brought justice for a young life lost too soon, providing closure for the victim’s loved ones and reaffirming safety and trust within the Frisco community. As a result of her dogged pursuit of justice, the offender was sentenced to prison by a jury. #SuperSleuth #PursuingJustice #ProtectingOurCommunity #CollinCountyDA #CollinCounty
