Purkinje cells of similar morphologies also tended to cluster near each other. If morphology dictates some features of PC function, then this cell-cell clustering may generate patches of functional similarity in the cortex

Inspired by Cajal, the Hansel lab's new work in @eLife provides a comparative histological analysis of human and mouse Purkinje cell morphology. Following our 2023 study, we detail differences of scale and kind between the neurons of the two species 🧵👇 elifesciences.org/articles/105013

I was very excited to speak at the @wusmsl journal club. Great community ! Got some really interesting questions and insights from within and outside the cerebellar field! Check out the recording here

See our first @wusmsl journal club of the academic year! We hosted @SI_plasticity, who told us about this fascinating work, recently published in Science, showing the innervation of purkinje dendrites by multiple climbing fibers. youtu.be/1iH1dvyKXIs

@AmandaLeBel3 Thanks! As you’ll see, some of the analysis and discussion is inspired by your insightful (functional!) work in human 😁

@carobellum What’s more, parts of this would absolutely not exist if not for your studies!! I’m so grateful for your work and insight!

Omg! I went back to Amazon to see how I could have ordered such a large wrench. There are multiple options in size. I got the 18" one. Y'all there's a 24" version and look at this review!!!

Funny #newpi ordering moment: needed a larger wrench to tighten our regulators for our gas tanks. Bought a "large wrench". It's 5.2 lbs of solid steel! Normal sized wrench (pic 1) is what I was going for. Bonus: it doubles as blunt force object! P100 tip box for size reference.

@SI_plasticity We were invited to write a lit review on my concentration a couple years ago and I’m just using that as my intro 😎 very thankful I don’t have to face that again 😂

I'm back with some more images of sparsely labeled cerebellar molecular layer interneurons ✨🧠🔬
