It’s a rollercoaster, and just as exhilarating as the real thing. I’m finally enjoying life again after thinking there was no future for a very long time. Anyway, hope to see you soon

I absolutely love having a brand new lab! This is now our third refurbished lab in 2 years and it has been a pleasure to teach and do practicals with students.

@Coeliac_UK Going to a restaurant that normally has gluten free pasta or bread and being told ‘we’ve not got it today’ No apology and no awareness that this means you can’t eat at all.

What’s the hardest part about being gluten free that people don’t always see? It could be navigating restaurant menus, finding the right products, or dealing with cross-contamination risks. Share your experiences in the comments – it could help support others.

Just synched the BBC Sport, ITV and BBC Sounds commentaries for Agyemang’s goal and it’s like poetry I’ve been listening to this over and over again

Wow, I’ve been away from EduTwitter for 6 months! A planned op went terribly wrong which resulted in sepsis twice, losing organs, blood transfusions, clots & 2 comas… I now have a stoma. Are there any teachers with a stoma who are happy to chat?😬

@adamboxer1 Absolutely agree with this. When I wrote for the OUP this was our aim.

I think booklets are great, but fundamentally don't think they should exist. Published resources should be good enough such that teachers and schools don't need to make their own full curriculum suites. >
Adam Boxer@adamboxer1

@ianwhite21 not sure i understand, you still need a good teacher to deliver the booklets and if you don't have really good booklets, then you probably need an outlier teacher to build that curriculum

Chemistry twitter- what is going on here? My HCl-carbonate neutralisation with methyl orange is clicking back to alkali several minutes after the end point. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Is it solubility issue? @ChatChemistry #iteachchemistry

Over the last few weeks, we have been reflecting on some of successes of NEU members during 2024.  But we couldn’t reflect on 2024 without highlighting the pay award you and your colleagues won in September. #ValueEducation #NEUChristmas  It was your dedicated collective action – on picket lines, at rallies and demos, and by voting in our ballots – that moved the government and won that fully funded 5.5% pay rise.   Thanks to all our members for their hard work this year. Here’s to more success in 2025! #NEUChristmas

@SciInTheMaking We practice complex A level practicals with dry, clean kit in the week before doing the actual practical. Better student outcomes and fewer breakages!

Instead, explicitly teach students how to use the lab equipment beforehand. Use formative assessments to confirm their understanding. Then proceed with the lab. Obviously there is so much more to conducting a successful lab, but this can help! (2/2)

"Whilst academised sixth form colleges have been included within the Government’s guaranteed funding for the 5.5% pay award for teachers, this has not been the case for non-academised sixth form colleges." Why have we been left out? #Strike4FairPay Thurs 28th Nov
