@EMManchester EPR is inherently a good step- centralised information, better coordination/ communication , improved safety etc. where it falls down is when software not evolving with current needs and poor hardware. It would be lovely if we had one system for all NHS trusts. 💭

@RCEMpresident @RCollEM Lay person explanation-Congestion in ED is when inflow does not match out flow. The current plan is working only on in inflow( not worked for years) Need to focus on outflow/ back door.

If insanity is repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting different results … Overcrowding in EDs kills patients and harms staff. The core problem is the “back door” of our departments. Continued focus on the “front door” through redirection strategies won’t work. @RCollEM

We were so sad to hear of the passing of Dr Gill Park, Consultant in EM at Northwick Park Hospital. She was genuinely loved by her colleagues, made an enormous contribution to our specialty both nationally and internationally, was honoured by RCEM, and will be deeply missed.

I've said before that doctors are being phased out. Some probably thought I was exaggerating... but why is there a 6 year, multi-million pound research project called "Medicine Without Doctors"??!? 'What happens when medical expertise is actively displaced to other medical positions'
