Just back from a wonderful poetry reading at my children's school. This was one of my daughter's contributions to the evening. I know I will never have the vision to write anything as beautiful as "I will unbutton the sea from the sky..." (Thank you @CalebParkin for guiding her)

@Johnny_Ravo would you be happy for me to contact you? I’ve been involved with CVI south of the border since 2015. Been wanting to contact for a while.

@SEND_CA Indeed, unless we can lobby for change. It simply has to happen. How is the issue....

Norfolk LA fined by Ombudsman after a girl with autism, besieged by crippling anxiety, spent years in and out of school before her parents decided to withdraw her - because the council repeatedly failed to accommodate her complex needs. greatyarmouthmercury.co.uk/news/autistic-…

@SteveBroach @GetMeToSchool @theoneabroad3 Just something else we’d have to apply for and compile our case. Most parents won’t have time nor inclination nor energy left to do it after a full Tribunal hearing process. It’s tortuous.

My view is that if a local authority pays for external legal representation at Tribunal, they should be required to make an equivalent sum available to the parent / young person to pay for representation #SEND

@SteveBroach @theoneabroad3 Yes in theory. But how often does this happen in practice? That potentially would necessitate in some cases a separate hearing which there is no time for (as panel said in ours) So how do we push / develop this point?

@SteveBroach @SendCrisis Once again we are forced to go to Tribunal (3rd time) because @hantsconnect can act abusively using public money in a system stacked against disabled young people. Last time they wasted lot of public money with a barrister sent to argue against us. They lost. @GavinWilliamson

@GetMeToSchool @39EssexChambers @CPAGUK Yes in broad terms, though we won’t be looking at the law in specific areas - focus is on how to deal with these claims generally, approach the court takes, evidence required etc
