Sixth form teachers. Happened upon this lovely list of ideas and courses Y12 students could explore, to inform their choices and enhance UCAS applications. Please retweet if useful 🙂docs.google.com/document/d/1V9…

Have just updated my Padlet with links to some of the various RfP resources I've put together over the past few years (articles, surveys, booklists, maps, etc). Will add more over the next couple of weeks. Hope it's useful. #ReadingForPleasure #edutwitter padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/woa…

Here’s an alternative anthology for the AQA P+C cluster. Includes 2 copies of each poem, prompts for analysis & QR codes for academic reading. Format and prompts by @__codexterous & review pages by @FunkyPedagogy. Both have kindly allowed me to share 😊 dropbox.com/sh/3ybqzxog7xp…

@Missy_Megan “Don’t say it” is a good one- challenge the word ‘it’ every time a student uses the word- “it goes up”- “what goes up and why” “It changes” “what’s ‘it’ and what does it change to?” Etc.

@Missy_Megan One thing we did was buy lecterns for the front of class. Reward points aplenty for getting students to read out good work or read from texts being studied (get another copy to go under the viz).

Finally it's being said out loud. I haven't used exam questions in lessons to practice with for a long time. Kids still see exam questions, I just don't make it part of *any* practice.

NEW BLOG: Why using exam questions in lesson might not be a good idea. A blog that discusses the problems with using exam questions in science lessons. Will transfer to some other subjects too. adam-robbins.com/2021/12/21/why…
