It has become abundantly clear to me that there are some Americans who need to better understand what constitutes racism. There are many forms of racism—not just explicit ones as seen during Jim Crow and that most Americans are generally familiar with.

Mr. President, I go home to my district daily. Each morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors. It is my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But, it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents.

@JennaBushHager Exactly. Those who live in under resourced areas certainly don’t need the president to label their communities as “disgusting.” What does that type of remark do except tear down those who need to be uplifted the most? Oh right, it makes Trump feel better about himself.

I taught in West Baltimore. I adore my kids, their parents, and grandparents. They all want the same thing I want for my kids: the chance for their children to have safe, happy and productive lives. Let’s think about the language we use, who it hurts.

I’ve waited tables and interviewed on live TV. He’s right. Going on TV can be stressful, but restaurant shifts are much, much harder. Most of these Fox News correspondents couldn’t last one real day in these hard working jobs they love to mock on television.
