Someone said "Angels don't bring customers but marketing does" I quickly remembered something that happened in 2022. For 6 months, I didn't create content. I didn't update my community I didn't drop any storytelling content or tips or tricks. I didn't talk about my services. Nothing nothing. I had one client paying me 50k every 3 weeks. I didn't think much about it because I didn't have bills to pay for. Until 1 day, the client said he wanted to pause the business for an opportunity that came in for him abroad. That was when I had to sit up. The following year I lost my dad. Ahh! Blur blur blurship. It was tough. While I was burying my dad, I was learning b2b content marketing. Paid for a 6 weeks training on content marketing strategy for brands. That single event made me sit up. Because I understood no angel was coming. I resumed posting content. I resumed cold pitching under Facebook groups where start up founders complain about not reaching their target. I was always in the comment section where founders and business owners are complaining of one thing or the other. Shortly after, I landed a role in 2024 September, good pay. I announced it. Same year, landed another role as content marketing strategist for an exterior & interior firm in enugu. Landed a social media marketing gig for a period of 6 months. A lot of good things happened when I started putting myself out there. In summary, no matter how hard you pray, if you don't put yourself out there, nobody will pay for your services or buy your products.

I still remember years ago, before I got into tech, I told someone I wanted to learn.. The person looked at me and asked: “Are you ready to sit down for long hours and actually work?” I laughed, because in my head I was like… “Ah ah.. is it not just sitting down? How hard can it be?” Fast forward to today 🥹 Hours on my laptop. Eye strain. Back pain. Neck pain. Mental exhaustion.. And the funny thing? Most of the work in this my social media management happens before the actual posting. The research. The strategy. The brainstorming. The content planning. The endless thinking. You’ll sit down and think until your brain starts buffering.. PSA: If you’re entering tech, especially SMM… Let me warn you now with love 😭 YOUR BUTT WILL HURT!
