UPDATE 🔥🔥: Gateway International Airport gets approval for Scheduled Commercial flights✈️✈️✈️ I can CONFIRM that the Gateway International Airport has been GRANTED Interim Aerodrome Operational Permit to operate Scheduled Commercial flights by the NCAA. {Check slides for videos of the airport) About the Gateway International Airport: —Conceived in 2019 and built from ground up by Governor Dapo Abiodun @DapoAbiodunCON ✅ —First Approval of its kind in Nigeria. ✅ — Longest Runway in Nigeria and West Africa. ✅ —Strategic facility for both passenger and cargo operations, with a primary focus on agro-cargo. —Conceptualized as an aerotropolis; an integrated development that merges an airport with industrial parks, residential areas, and business districts. —The airport is projected to provide employment opportunities for around 25,000 unemployed youths in the state, according to Nairametrics. —The airport will now serve as the alternate airport to Murtala MUHAMMED International Airport. Before its construction, if any aircraft cannot land at MMIA, the flight is re-directed to Accra Airport. The gateway international airport ends that dilemma. ✅ —It aims to boost Ogun State and Nigeria's economic development by facilitating trade, investment, and job creation.
