@writingump Schools will have had three years to prepare for the installation of shot clocks… three years. Any school that cannot prepare a plan through direct funding or fundraising for the initial costs should look for more competent leadership.

Talked with a small school AD here in southern Illinois in September who said it would cost at least 4K for the clocks. Never mind training people to run it. If the IHSA truly wanted to do what's right, it would foot the bill for schools to purchase the equipment.

For all who want a shot clock in HS, ask yourself who pays for the equipment & the extra person to run it, and most of all, who is trusted to run it? It’s not cheap for school corps under financial pressure in many other ways. That & I don’t think kids that age are ready for it.
