Forgot to mention the lox tank is clearly punctured. Held up pretty well despite that

Minus some damage to the areas around the flap hinge covers this doesn't look too bad. Even though they are getting lots of important data, it would be nice to see how it looks when they are no longer performing the missing tile experiments. Lots of future improvements to come with the TPS system, thats for sure

another angle. Epic! she was very leaky, stainless steel again proves to be the right choice.

Ship 38 was in ROUGH shape on landing. You can see tiles and pieces of steel flying off/holding on for dear life. TPS continues to be the major bottleneck for Starship. Stabilized and processed by me.

@Blobifie TPS absent place have secondary protection layer for simulate how upper layer tiles damage will exert maxiumum thermal load on those secondary layer or see if localized hotspot will destroy other tiles

@bofftrough Yea the goal is to see how a ship handles tile loss in different areas and how the back-up ablative handles reentry. Also theres areas where there wont be any ablative or tiles to test the point the steel burns through if at all

After Starship flight 11, SpaceX should post a recap of all flights so far. A goodbye to Starship V1 and V2.

@SN73MARS @AstroDesires It makes sense to copy the best design that we currently have. There are not that many ways to return second stage from orbit anyway.
