Remembering Navy SEAL and DEVGRU (Seal Team 6) operator Brett David Shadle, who was killed in training during a military free-fall (MFF) exercise near Tucson, Arizona. Shadle enlisted in the Navy on January 31, 2000. Upon completion of Recruit Training, Shadle volunteered to attend the Basic Underwater Demolition School (BUD/s), which he completed in October 2001. Shadle's first assignment was to SEAL Team 4, where he completed 2 combat deployments to Iraq in 2006 and 2007. At the end of 2007, Shadle decided to take the next step and tryout for DEVGRU as an operator. After a successful screening, Shadle was assigned to Red Squadron, where he served as an assaulter, team leader, and experienced lead MFF jumper. During his time as a tier 1 operator, he deployed to Afghanistan 3 times. Shadle remained at DEVGRU from 2007 until his death on March 28, 2013. Shadle was a son, brother, cousin, husband, and father to two children. Rest easy. Never forgotten 🔱
