Gen. Gregory Guillot brought together senior leaders and partners from across the United States and Canada last week during #NORAD and @USNorthernCmd Commander’s Conference at Joint Base Elmendorf‑Richardson, Alaska, to strengthen coordination and sharpen strategy for defending Norh America. “The High North is critical to the homeland defense mission. We must maintain domain awareness, unyielding presence, and strong partnerships across the Arctic to deter aggression. Last month, Gen Greg Guillot, NORAD & USNORTHCOM commander, attended #SOFWeek in Tampa, Florida. During his visit he was part of productive engagements with international Special Operations partners. A major highlight was the trilateral synchronization meeting between representatives from @socnorth , The Secretariat of National Defense (@Defensamx1) and Secretariat of the Navy (@SEMAR_mx) of Mexico, and Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM). With the World Cup being co-hosted across all three of our nations, topics discussed were aimed at strengthening the training of Special Forces and the mechanisms for multilateral synchronization to ensure a safe and secure global tournament.

An incredible week at #SOFWeek strengthening the partnerships that form the foundation of our collective security. We had the distinct honor of leading productive engagements with our international Special Operations partners. A major highlight was the trilateral synchronization meeting between SOCNORTH, The Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa) and Secretariat of the Navy (Marina) of Mexico, and Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM). With the World Cup being co-hosted across all three of our nations, our leadership teams convened to align multinational security preparations. Together, we are ensuring a safe, secure, and successful global tournament. En el marco de la Cooperación Multilateral Militar entre México, Estados Unidos de América (E.U.A.) y Canadá, del 16 al 22 de mayo de 2026, en Tampa, Florida, E.U.A., representantes de los componentes de Fuerzas Especiales de las Secretarías de la Defensa Nacional y de Marina de México, así como del Comando de Operaciones Especiales Norte de los E.U.A. (SOCNORTH) y Comando de Fuerzas de Operaciones Especiales de Canadá (CANSOFOM), asistieron a la Conferencia Internacional “Semana de las Fuerzas de Operaciones Especiales”. Durante este evento se abordaron temas orientados al fortalecimiento del adiestramiento de las Unidades de Fuerzas Especiales y los mecanismos de sincronización multilateral para garantizar la seguridad de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026. La participación de representantes de los Componentes de Fuerzas Especiales en esta conferencia fortalece los mecanismos de cooperación multilateral y contribuye al desarrollo de capacidades institucionales de las Fuerzas Armadas de México, E.U.A. y Canadá, bajo los principios de reciprocidad, responsabilidad compartida y diferenciada, confianza mutua y respeto a las decisiones y territorios soberanos de los tres países.

SOF Week 2026 by the Numbers ♠️ What an incredible week. Thank you to all the attendees, speakers, exhibitors, participating countries, and mission partners who made it possible to bring the global Special Operations community together in Tampa. Across every engagement, panel, demonstration, and even our inaugural prayer gathering, the focus remained on strengthening readiness, advancing capability, and supporting the Warfighter while reinforcing the unity behind the mission. Capabilities Demonstration 🚁🚤 “Battle in the Bay,” hit @CityofTampa with a full-spectrum display of special operations power across sea, air, and land. Ten allied nations came together in a synchronized, high-tempo operational showcase. Rotary-wing aircraft carved through the skies while unmanned systems and special operations craft-riverine cut across the water in coordinated execution.
