Acting on a tip-off, Sahadevkhunta Police apprehended a habitual offender involved in threatening roadside shopkeepers with a pistol. A country-made 7.65 mm pistol, magazine, live ammunition, mobile phone and a motorcycle were seized.

In two separate cases, Jaleswar Police arrested four drug peddlers under the NDPS Act and seized 279 grams of contraband brown sugar worth of ₹28 Lakh. One woman was apprehended at Rajpur Chhak with 259 grams, while three others were held near Panchughanta with 20 grams, along with a mobile phone and a motorcycle. Further links in the supply chain are under investigation.

Simulia PS apprehended the prime accused in a murder case - Simulia PS Case No. 56/16.02.2026 U/S 103(1)/303(2) BNS). The weapon of offence and other articles were seized. Further investigation is underway.

Sahadevkhunta PS has apprehended two accused involved in two gold chain snatching cases under its jurisdiction. Stolen gold chains weighing 16.40 gm and 11.89 gm along with the TVS NTORQ scooter used in the crime were recovered. Both offenders have multiple criminal antecedents. Further investigation is underway.

Under the special drive Cyber Kavach, Cyber Police Station, Balasore, successfully identified four accused persons involved in the supply and sale of mule bank accounts obtained from innocent individuals and being provided to fraudsters. The total amount involved in the fraud is ₹58 lakh. Out of this, ₹9.5 lakh has been put on hold/frozen. During the operation, Balasore police also seized 147 ATM cards, 49 cheque books, 4 nos of mobile and one Hyundai car.

Town PS, Balasore apprehended one accused individuals for allegedly pledging spurious gold ornaments at Odisha Grameen Bank, Balasore Branch, and availing a loan of ₹4,48,000. During investigation, spurious gold ornaments weighing 87.3 grams were seized. The accused has been arrested and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court, and further investigation is underway.

Acting on credible input, a team of Town PS apprehended two accused involved in a gold chain snatching near Mansingh Bazar, Amulya Chhak Road, and seized one gold chain and three mobile phones from their possession. The accused, having multiple previous criminal antecedents, have been arrested and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court.
