The Stamford Fire Department is running a toy drive this month at all their fire houses. I dropped some toys off today and stopped by to say thanks to the men and women who protect Stamford every day.

“Cunningham is battling multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of the blood plasma that is one of a group of illnesses associated with firefighting.”

It was a pleasure spending the day with State Reps @khanna_rachel and @coreypparis in Hartford for the @upffa @IAFFofficial Fire Ops 101 program. The program aims to educate decision makers about the capabilities and needs of fire fighters serving CT communities. @IAFFLeg

@WFSBnews was in Bristol, CT for a live training burn. @upffa’s Chris Albani was interviewed about the cancer risks associated with firefighting and ongoing legislative efforts to better protect fire fighters. @IAFFLeg

Needless exposure to toxic 'forever chemicals' in our bunker gear has made too many of our brothers and sisters sick. For them, and for future fire fighters, we will pursue every avenue to get PFAS out of our protective gear.
