If more US alllies had followed Canada's courageous example, and brought home to Trump the folly of his economic war on the world, American consumers would have been spared the pain of Trump's higher prices - and American workers would not have lost jobs to higher input costs.
Rep. Claudia Tenney@RepTenney

Only TWO countries retaliated against the U.S. over tariffs: China and Canada. Canada is one of America’s closest allies. It’s time for them to start acting like it.

Wouldn’t it be great if instead, the PMO said we will enforce the CHA, and make provinces accountable by tying transfer payments to achieving target wait times. They could even suggest some evidence based strategies. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

@dipbrat70 @DimitrisSoudas Didn’t the packers just pay a bunch of fines for price fixing? Might have something to do with burger prices. I dunno prolly let’s blame Trudeau’s vacation with the Aga Khan

Sharing as per your request sir. A hamburger rising from $1.00 to $3.99 increased by $2.99, or 299 pennies. Using a 30-year period: Average increase: about 10 pennies per year Total percentage increase: 299% Compounded annual increase: about 4.72% per year So the hamburger now costs 3.99 times its original price nearly four times as much. Original price: $1.00 Current price: $3.99 Increase: $2.99 Percentage increase: 299%

Jordan Leichnitz on Danielle Smith always moving the goalposts: "She got the MOU. She now has a path forward on the pipeline that requires really no private sector involvement. OK, so now it's about plastics. It's about pesticides. It's never enough."

My 95 year old Dad needs to renew his provincial ID by January. Citizenship docs date from the 1960s. His passport expired 6 years ago with no plans to travel again. If his extant citizenship papers are not accepted for Alberta ID I will be suing the registry and the AB gov't.
David Shepherd@DShepYEG

I had a similar situation this week. A man flew from Kamloops to help his 96 y.o. mother, my constituent, with a # of things including getting a new ID. He called the registry before coming & was told her citizenship docs would be acceptable. On arrival, they said no. #ableg

There seems to be a leftwing conservative faction represented by Kenny, O'Toole, Teneycke, Ford, Elliot(?), and some former Harper era staffers that want to bring conservativism back to what it looked like under O'Toole. Hard no.

One side effect of Platner embarrassing the Democrats is that it’s kept the spotlight off of the absolute psychos the GOP continues to nominate. Like this GOP candidate for Governor of CO who keeps bragging about killing a guy.
CNN@CNN

Marine veteran Victor Marx, whose wild claims – including saying he was forced to kill a man at age 7 – have drawn widespread attention and significant skepticism, will win the Republican nomination for governor in Colorado, CNN’s Decision Desk projects. cnn.it/3SUDuwH

More examples of Poilievre's top down approach and the internal "snark" factor with his inner circle and proxies. It's no wonder some CPC MPs who were more to the centre, decided to cross the floor. I don't know this person, but her concerns seem heartfelt.
Caroline Elliott@NVanCaroline

I was in the backcountry for a few days and came back to some commentary about my leadership campaign.  Here’s my response, not as a “liberal lobbyist from out east,” but as a born-and-raised British Columbian and lifelong federal Conservative voter.  As someone who cast my ballot for Pierre for party leader, who voted for him again in the last general election, who publicly endorsed him ahead of his leadership review, and who has never had any reason to wish him anything but the greatest success: Let’s set aside the apparent personal disputes, bring people together and win, because Conservatives fighting with each other only helps our adversaries and fails Canadians.  Let’s focus on the massive challenges facing everyday citizens and propose a path forward that they can get excited about - a path that’s only possible if Conservatives unite and form government. Let’s be proud of what we stand for as Conservatives, constructive about our nation’s very real difficulties, and welcome those who share our interest in empowering Canadians to live up to their enormous potential. There’s simply too much at stake to do otherwise.

@SenAdamSchiff you aren’t asking the Canadian govt to do jack-squat. It’s not their constitutional jurisdiction. You’re asking Quebec. Le sigh

I like and appreciate Sen. Schiff. And I get where blue states are coming from. But Americans DON’T GET IT. The head of the most powerful military in world history threatened to invade us and destroy our economy. For months on end. Wine ban seems small by comparison. 🇨🇦

Canada's boycott of California wine is causing devastating harm to winegrowers. I'm urging the Canadian government to recognize that California doesn’t agree with these tariff wars, to lift these restrictions, and increase consumer options to strengthen both our economies. sacbee.com/food-drink/art…

Given what we know about foreign interference and use of disinformation, @ElectionsAB decided to roll out the red carpet for unregulated money to flow in to the province during the referendum. @ElectionsAB has compromised our right to a free and fair election.

Given that @ElectionsAB is allowing untold dark money in to the process, Albertans can no longer have confidence in a secure, free and fair election process. This is a national security issue and affects all Canadians. #cdnpoli

What @ElectionsAB has done imperils the very concept of free and fair elections in the context of what the State Department and senior US Administration officials have said about AB separation on the record (let alone privately). A national disgrace, I’ll say it again.

According to @ElectionsAB, this 👇foreign interference in the referendum campaign is perfectly legal. No law against it. This site is satire, but everything in it is fine by Elections Alberta. The rule interpretations for referendum spending are the road to hell. #ableg
