@worillessg Watch out for books written with exactly this formula in mind. Many books are non-linear these days. They employ all the devices that hook you, but still lack in plot density, reader trust, and narrative authenticity.

If a book doesn’t hook me in 30 pages, I’m dropping it. Am I wrong? And do you finish every book?

@valenroan They just settle into trusted social media communities (preferably over months) and ask who's ready to read a manuscript. This usually turns out badly if one can't handle the truth.

I won't lie, its hard sometimes to feel inspired as a writer. Inspiration can't be forced. That's why it's important to find ways to fill your creativity. I like to read, play video games, get outside, or watch movies to do this. What about you?

@lhallwriter I do have this period when I look around, like time has still, like I have only one meal left before life changes all over again or whatever. The truth is this is every day. It just feels more obvious when one is between projects.

Writers, do you take a break after finishing a project or do you jump straight into something else? I tend to be always working on something and I rather enjoy that :)

Writing thought: It bothers me when a story conflict could be resolved with simple communication between people that should naturally be communicating. I find it to be a logic flaw. What do you think?

How important is it, to you, for your (or a) book to have a STRONG first line? Is it a hook, or a non-issue?
