Wife Health Update Good morning everyone. Quick update on my wife — the medicine she's been on since her last lumbar puncture hasn't slowed the fluid buildup, and her vision has started declining again. This morning we were up at 2 AM to get her to the hospital for surgery. She's getting a lumboperitoneal shunt (LP shunt). The doctors will place a small tube in her lower spine to drain the excess fluid from around her brain into her abdomen. This should relieve the pressure and protect her vision. It won't fix the other symptoms she's been dealing with, but saving her sight is a huge win. To be honest, we're both pretty anxious heading into this — whether it's the surgery itself or just everything we've been through the last 10 months. Any prayers or good thoughts would mean a lot.I'll keep you posted on how she's doing. I've taken this week off to care for her, and she'll need at least 6 weeks of recovery.Thank you all for the continued support ❤️

I took my very fragile body image into a Jcrew fitting room. I bought one of these. Don’t mind the Rosanne Rosannadanna hair. Ive ironed it now.

Struggling with mental health my entire adult life has meant disappointing everyone around me. It’s wanting desperately to meet the needs of others but being unable to. It’s wanting desperately for others to meet your needs but they’re unwilling to because you’re a burden.

@HDunn_Writer I’m discovering in hindsight I should have never even entered into such a relationship in the first place. I came into this world broken and never figured out the fix. People said Jesus would fix me but Christians just made me feel worse

@HDunn_Writer I was until I committed to marriage counseling. I didn’t think I could handle both concurrently so I quit selfishly trying to help myself to focus on salvaging a marriage. But that strategy backfired so I’ll probably try to do both now

@HDunn_Writer @sophpen Getting a real diagnosis can be a pain, though. I had to take my son to another city. The more I learn about it, the more convinced I am I am autistic, too. But at this point in my life, getting a diagnosis wouldn’t help much.

I’ve really grown to dislike the word “neurodivergent.” I think some of you just enjoy the label.

@DesolateApostle I love summer squash. You can saute it with a little olive oil, salt and pepper... or you can put it in the oven on a baking sheet with olive oil, and then at the last minute sprinkle some cheese on top (I do mozzarella, but any will do) and let that almost burn. So good.
