Thank you, Yusuf. Your voice has always counted in both the West and East in ways that few others can match. I believe I speak for countless millions who are grateful for your poetic and powerful comments about freeing Imran Khan from this terrible injustice of democracy. As I’ve said from the first time I visited Pakistan in 1994, as goes Pakistan, so goes the world. IK did much in his brief time in power to improve the lives of the Pakistani people. Also, in my own personal work during Covid, Pakistan was the only country in the world that openly allowed its information on Covid to be shared with the rest of the world. It was Pakistan that first discovered that the Chinese Covid vaccines were useless against the Omicron variant. Without that information and advice to many countries to be aware of that information and protect themselves in other ways, many millions of people would have died around the world, unnecessarily. The world owes Imran Khan a debt, not apathy.

100% right, Richard. Imran Khan has been deposed, shot by a would be assassin, deprived of his rights, and stuck in solitary confinement on invented charges despite orders from the Supreme Court of Pakistan to free him. It is unconscionable that a democracy can act this way while the world stands idly by.

I just spent several days with @richardbranson and @sufisal (Dr. Salman Ahmed) discussing the dangerous detention of former PM @ImranKhanPTI in Pakistan. As a physician and friend of Pakistan, I have watched with pain and sadness at his deterioriting health status while a prisoner in round the clock solitary confinement. To make it worse, he has not been allowed reasonable visits from his own physician. His health status alone demands an immediate release to hospital or other good medical care before it is too late. What happened to Alexei Navalny in Russia's gulag cannot be allowed to happen to @ImranKhanPTI .
