@DevildetailsMU I’ve noticed you’ve described how people view these deals or price points as a lack of consistency several times. But that assumes it isn’t simply flexibility, which may make your perspective a bit more rigid than you realize.

I don’t know what Bouaddi should be worth I’m just sick of the lack of consistency from the value in the market brigade in the Man United fan base.
Victor@ELTRAINVICTOR

@DevildetailsMU I get your point but £100m of Bouaddi is crazy

@IanM1st By the very definition of marquee, Tielemans is more so than the midfielders we’ve declined to sign. Unless your definition of marquee is by price, not quality. The next “marquee” signing I’d appreciate next is a Baleba or Kone.

@David_Ornstein @TheAthleticFC Tielemans is a good player, but is this really the ambition now? Another short-term signing while every other top club is planning for the future We needed to raise the level, not just add another body #MUFC #GlazersOut

Humans having more endurance than some animals is an unproven/biased hypothesis. You can’t fairly compare human endurance to animal endurance because the trait that makes humans good at, i.e., marathons (conscious, strategic training) is absent in animals. So the notion is fundamentally broken, not because humans lack endurance, but because you’re testing different mechanisms. Bottom line, trying to beat a bison (usually chased by wolves) on endurance because of a human fallacy is a sure way to get yourself killed.

@hpesojnai @DaSoko 1. Humans usually have more endurance than animals even though animals are usually faster. Unless you are already an old person 2. If he were younger, he probably would have thought about it and ran quick enough to the vehicle. Again, old age held him back

This video clearly portrayed something Chris Rock said. He said that anything that kills you after the age of 70 should be ruled as natural causes. If you get hit by a bus while crossing the road after age 70, it's probably because you were too slow due to age. This guy right here has been doomed by natural causes because a younger person would have thought faster, better and ran a bit faster

Prime Intellect engineer: "everyone's bragging about a million-token context. here's what they don't tell you. at 256k tokens GPT-5.5 scores 80% on retrieval. push it to a million and it drops to 36%. the model accepts the context, it just can't reason across it. people call it context rot." in a 20-minute talk he explains why bigger context windows won't save your agents. continual learning + training on your own traces + real environments - that's the fix. @DanielieGrey “Great players” never play around systems—it’s a myth. If they’re great, the system is already designed to suit them in the first place.

Bullshit. You lot were swearing he's the best creator in euroep. He was awful and it speaks to the football in the prem. Great players rise above system. A system doesn't stop your bad turn overs! A system doesn't stop your poor passes! A system doesn't stop your inability to be brave and make a through pass to your runner or to track back. Stop with windown washing ! The Spaniard are not doing Pr for Pedri's bad play. So pls stop. Portugal ain't doing that for bruno either! Him and Vitinha were bad !
Umir Irfan@umirf1

Bruno didn’t look great because Portugal’s game model was to strictly play around. There was no central presence or progression. Not blaming him for a system that didn’t platform him well.

@fuadyabz23 @RegistaCall Copying PSG’s midfield doesn’t mean signing players with the exact same profiles. Style of play is an abstraction; it can be achieved with different player archetypes, provided they collectively deliver the same tactical functions.

@isoquince I’m sorry but this is a very naive viewpoint. Going all in for him means we’re sticking with our principles that only certain players warrant a designated price tag. And considering Tchou’s body of work, none of the players we “missed” out on are worth the price

I completely believe that we’ll go all in for Tchouameni now. For better or for worse, the market has passed us by so far due to our stance on not overpaying, wages etc. but ironically I think that we’ll now abandon those principles in our pursuit of Tchou 🤣

@RegistaCall lol I don’t get the criticism for Sully though, he wasn’t wrong about our interest in the player. At the end of the day, we made the decision not to match the valuation or mode of payment. I don’t think that’s a blemish on him

This is standard financial practice. The key point is the distinction between valuation and maximum willingness to pay. If we value a player at 70m but internally decided we can stretch to 80m because of market conditions, squad needs, or timing, that doesn’t mean 85m is acceptable. An extra 5p or 5m pushes the deal beyond what we would consider reasonable.

Wait what? Nah this makes it even worse. So the argument of saying we weren’t willing to pay the amount goes out of the window

Man United were prepared to go to £80m + £5m for Mateus Fernandes, with some expectation he would join. But Tottenham’s guaranteed fee + wages swung talks. Significant signing to miss out on. #MUFC onto other targets. Free to read, by @mjcritchley ⬇️ nytimes.com/athletic/74210…
