“Genetic genealogy is one of the only ways that short of finding a suspect and doing a direct comparison that this case might be solved…” @SRyan4n6DNA breaks down how genetic genealogy could be used in Nancy Guthrie case. Watch below, and subscribe: youtube.com/c/MegynKelly?s…

I had the opportunity to talk with Nancy Grace today about DNA mixtures. What's the difference between an STR mixture and a SNP mixture? Why can a mixed profile sometimes be eligible for CODIS, yet is NOT good enough for genealogical searching? youtube.com/watch?v=89UkPs…

More discussion of the DNA in the Nancy Guthrie case. Reports are saying @othram is now involved. Maybe a low-level sample needs some help from Othram? And... what about those plants the perp ripped out and held? Are we testing those? Hope so! youtube.com/watch?v=ftP71D…

Not sure which glove this was, or the reason behind testing it, but the number of discarded clothing or other items in a 2-mile radius, or 12.5 square miles, of any residential area is going to be huge. You don’t want to overlook anything, but hoping for a lucky hit is not a great investigative strategy. 🤞that wasn’t the case. This search area should be refined as much as possible. I hope that LE is keeping important details close to the chest and they have viable leads. I keep circling back to questions regarding offender-victim relationship (not necessarily family), primary target, motive, the offender’s spatial behavior at the home, how and why Nancy left her home, and reverse warrants. Time will tell on all of these, hopefully sooner rather than later. This is an uncommon crime with a rare victimology and (possibly) amateur offender communications — all behavioral elements that the FBI are likely factoring into their investigation. I do hope that they are looking at the spatial behavior with the same level of scrutiny. I hope Nancy is brought home safe, or at the very least to her family. For every other family with a missing family member, all cases matter equally, just not always in the media. Keep fighting your fight. #NancyGuthrie #missingpersons

Breaking: Sheriff Nanos tells Fox News that the one glove which was recovered about two miles from Nancy Guthrie's home did NOT match DNA in Nancy's home and also did not have a hit in CODIS.

@smiley2456 @seanhannity There is a pipeline for DNA uploads to CODIS. First it goes the Local database (LDIS), then it goes through the State database (State) and then finally to National. If there was no hit, that means it has already been searched through all levels of the database.

Nancy Grace says setbacks in the Nancy Guthrie case are expected, vowing the investigation is just beginning as authorities turn to Arizona’s DNA database for answers: “Did you ever think that this was going to be easy? Because it’s not, and it’s not going to be easy to solve this case. There are going to be many, many more setbacks than there will be advances in this case. The fact that that glove, around two miles away from her home, did not get a CODIS hit—okay, fine, next. Now we take that DNA and compare it in the Arizona databank. So we may have a good chance with the Arizona databank, which has over half a million DNA profiles. So hey, I don’t want to smell the stench of defeat tonight—this is just starting.”

If you're looking for some insight into the DNA testing conducted in the Guthrie case including the general analysis process, how and when samples are uploaded to CODIS, and next steps now that we know there is no match in databse, read this article- dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

NEW: "Unnecessary delays" in getting DNA from glove in Nancy Guthrie case into FBI database -- The decision to send the glove with DNA to a private lab in Florida is causing what one source familiar with the case calls “unnecessary delays” in getting the DNA entered into the FBI’s CODIS database. That’s because the FBI does not accept DNA submissions directly from private labs. Instead, once testing is complete in Florida, it’s likely the DNA data extracted must first be sent back to the state system in Arizona where it can be uploaded and becomes shareable with the FBI for entry into CODIS. That extra step adds time creating what the source describes as a “catch-up” process when the FBI could have processed and entered the data within a day, according to the source.

There has been an awful lot of incorrect information out there in the Nancy Guthrie case regarding DNA testing, CODIS, and private labs vs public labs. Join me tomorrow morning at 10am ET on @NewsNation where I will attempt to clear up some misconceptions.
