NEWS: xAI is reportedly using just 11% of its 550,000 NVIDIA GPUs, while Meta and Google squeeze 43-46% out of theirs. According to a report from The Information, xAI's massive Memphis and Colossus GPU clusters, packed with H100s and H200s including liquid-cooled setups, are running at only around 11% utilization. That works out to roughly 60,000 active GPUs out of the 550,000 installed. The issue is not unique to xAI. Running hundreds of thousands of GPUs efficiently is one of the hardest challenges in AI today. As clusters scale up, idle time piles up fast and software stacks struggle to keep up. Meta and Google have invested heavily in their software optimization, hitting 43% and 46% utilization respectively. xAI's distributed training network and software stack are still maturing, leading to longer idle times and bottlenecks in the data pipeline. xAI is targeting 50% utilization through future infrastructure and software upgrades. The company may also start renting out its GPU fleet as it shifts workloads to hardware better suited for agentic AI tasks. @Kyrannio Not gonna lie, I've used Grok Imagine Agent for a handful of things, but NoSpoon looks a lot cleaner. Maybe xAI should have brought you in.

Wow, this is all Grok Imagine. I used NoSpoon (I built a video gen agent platform that runs Imagine) to test out this animated style as I haven't tried that with Imagine yet (and when I test things with the NoSpoon agent, I usually test 3s scene clips, so this is the agent running 4 scenes. Don't worry about the coherency between scenes, I have that fixed). But at any rate, this is the 'animated' genre the agent whipped up. And again, this is all fully autonomous by the NoSpoon agent, I just input animated genre as the guidance and it did the rest in less than 1 minute! Really impressed with Imagine's ability for animation. This is even prior to upscaling!

NEWS: NAACP files lawsuit against Elon Musk’s xAI over unpermitted gas turbines in Mississippi. The lawsuit claims xAI and its subsidiary MZX Tech, LLC installed and ran 27 natural gas turbines in Southaven, Mississippi between August and December 2025 without securing an air permit. Key concerns raised in the filing: • Turbines release smog-forming pollutants and particulate matter that pose health risks • Tens of thousands live, work and study near the xAI power plant • Hundreds of thousands more reside in greater Memphis • A larger share of the affected population is Black compared to the national average The NAACP argues xAI tried to avoid federal permitting rules by labeling the turbines “temporary,” using a legal loophole. Surely THIS is not the Grok Imagine beta that I'm hearing everyone rave about? Because this is the only beta I see in Imagine. And it just gives you an iteration of a video you already made. Have Android users been shut out in the cold once again? I don't even want the Companions anymore. I just want the new Imagine capabilities. 😭
