Great photos again from Si Events Photography! It was good to be back racing for the older rowers. This was also the first race for many of our Year 10 and 11 rowers after a year or so of disrupted training.

Our first race of 2025 will be this Saturday in Durham. We have 9 crews racing across the first 3 divisions. Parents - please check Spond.

Our ergo room, once the home of indoor rowing for the entire Northern region, was demolished in the summer after serving our club for almost 30 years. Thankfully we have decamped to the gym for our indoor training. Michael was delighted to see so many in attendance yesterday!

One four, six quads and an eight on the river this morning with almost 50 rowers in them! Thank you to all the coaches and parent volunteers for helping us manage them.

Our rowers are very keen dancers ... next step, on ice!? ⛸️

It was freezing cold at the start of the session ... but then we got a little otter.

It took us a while to defrost the locks on the boathouse doors this morning but it was worth it in the end ❄️ 🔐 ⚫️ 🔴

The boat-naming has inevitably led to some poring over old photos. Can anyone spot one of our current coaches in the first two photographs? Please get in touch if you recognise yourself in any of these images. We would love to have you as part of the boat club 'alumni' group.

A great afternoon at @DurhamARC to name a boat in honour of our school boat club's founder, Bill Parker. His daughter, Christine and his grandson, John officially named the boat and were joined by a crowd of Mr Parker's former athletes, crewmates and colleagues #Obelisk

Winners of this year's Thames Challenge Cup and Britannia Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta, Andrew Thomas and Owen Farmer got their hands on the silverware at Thames Rowing Club's club dinner. They join a very exclusive club of ex-St Leonard's HRR winners #Obelisk

Meanwhile back at the ranch, our current crop of rowers are getting ready for winter and putting in the training to make up for another disrupted start to a season.

Great to hear from two of last year's leavers, Phil and Euan. They are coaching various sports, including rowing at Christ Church Grammar School in Perth. On top of that they are hoping to travel over Christmas during the Australian summer! Enjoy it lads! #Obelisk
