So much talk about “what would X handicap shoot at Oakmont”… Why don’t we find a way to make it happen? Have a 5, 10, 18 whatever handicap play Monday after the @usopengolf. Back tees full rules of golf, and see what happens? May have to let a few groups thru and allow for 6-7 hours but I think we’re all here for it, no?? 😂

Scottie Scheffler playing Colonial this week is a perfect encapsulation of who he is. Everyone played Truist the week before the PGA, a signature event with no cut and huge $, and is skipping this week after the grind of Quail Hollow. He’s doing the opposite. For him it’s as simple as: I can play a golf tournament in my backyard in Dallas, so why wouldn’t I? Not bothered at all about the purse being lower than signature event or the field strength. Not drained the week after winning a major because it’s like breathing for him. No hoopla, not concerned with anyone else.
