Say it with us: Every pet needs a plan. Whether you have a cat, turtle or baby goat, your pets rely on you for their safety and well-being during an emergency. As Tropical Storm #Francine develops in the Gulf and makes its way toward the U.S., now is the perfect time to review those emergency plans and determine how you plan to keep yourself, your family and your pets safe.

We ❤️ 🐕 🐩 🐾 Dog-owning families often promote physical activity within the household. 🐾 Dog parents are more likely to fit in the recommended level of physical activity. 🐾 Dogs are always there to comfort you & put a smile on your face every day.

We won't stop you if you want to fry an egg on the sidewalk but please don't do it to your dog's paws! Dangerous levels of heat are expected in the South, West and Midwest through the week. These heightened temperatures can put you and your pets at risk of a heat stroke. Use this pavement trick to determine if it’s too hot to walk your pets outside and remember these helpful tips: - Plan walks in the early AM or late PM when temperatures are cooler. - Take routes with grass or lots of shaded areas. - Bring a cold towel or water bottle to help regulate your pet's temperature.

Let's talk gut health! It plays a major role in digestion, immunity, and even your mood. Fill your plate with #prebiotics (think asparagus, onion, berries) and #probiotics (yogurt, kefir, kimchi) to keep your gut happy and healthy. #microbiome #GutHealth

Your heart doesn’t have to work as hard when you drink enough water. In fact, even mild dehydration affects your blood vessels (making them less springy) about the same as smoking a cigarette. Learn more: wb.md/4dJaVHK

In certain parts of CA, the fungus that causes #ValleyFever grows in the dirt. If people & pets breathe in the fungus from outdoor dust, they can get sick. If you have a cough, fever & fatigue that aren’t getting better, talk to a healthcare provider. cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/D…
