@PippaCrerar @jessicaelgot Presumably he will be even handed in the allocation of official resources and not just allocate his time to labour marginal seats? Or is this in a political capacity only, in which case I think he might be better served focusing on governing.

@Jonathan_Hinder You tend not need a moral argument against something inoperable. That's kind of the point. If it doesn't work, you dont bow to the moral case. Because that would be stupid.

The Right’s response to a wealth tax is always “but it won’t work!” What I find interesting is that there is rarely an attempt to argue against it on moral grounds, because they know most people find such wealth inequality utterly grotesque. There is overwhelming public support for doing something about this - I mean, LOOK at that polling👇👀 So, why don’t we crack on with the most effective and practicable ideas? We know that a proportional property tax, while a bit less flashy, actually works, so let’s start there! @FairerShare

With former financial trader Gary Stevenson advocating for a wealth tax of 2% on wealth above £10 million in a TV show this week, our poll last year found 75% of Britons would be in favour of such a tax Link in replies

A couple earn £50k each, and their combined take-home pay is £6,320 per month. They have 2 kids and receive full child benefit of £2,211.60 per year. Their neighbours also have a £100,000 household income, but all of it comes from a single salary. Since more of this income is taxed at a higher rate, their take-home pay is over £800 less per month (£5,513). Even though they too have 2 kids, they receive £0 child benefit because their single salary exceeds the £80k threshold. Make it make sense.

@Lestatd87312933 @TiffanyFong Why did you put 'well' in commas like that. Implies you dont actually mean it. Captain cuck is funny. Almost as funny as a grown ass man being triggered by another person's choices.

@Lestatd87312933 @TiffanyFong You made a page just about this; what a sad little man. I am very happy with my wife. You'd do well to keep her out of this. You grubby little fishmonger.

40. If Parliament is dissolved or the Member otherwise ceases to be a Member while an investigation is in progress, the Commissioner will suspend their investigation until the Member is re-elected. If the Member is not returned to Parliament, the Commissioner will decide if it is appropriate and proportionate to resume their investigation.

@tomhfh Is there an option of Farage resigns, wins a by-election, then the privileges committee publishes its report and kicks him out again?

Fair enough, and I know you’ve argued against it before. But as a former HMT and Cabinet minister, you know better than most that this has been a known fiscal problem for years. If it was straightforward, it would have been changed when Conservatives were in power. The truth is its an electoral trap.

Burnham's response: "Fair challenge, Kemi - but don’t forget it’s only two weeks since I faced questions from 74,000 members of the public in Makerfield!"
Kemi Badenoch@KemiBadenoch

Seeing as though Andy Burnham prefers answering softball questions on Reddit instead of facing real scrutiny from the Press, I’m asking a question of my own on his AMA. It’s time get serious @andyburnham. Hold a proper press conference, and answer some real questions.

The problem with No 10 isn’t just where it is, it’s that it’s clearly just not fit for purpose as a centre of government.

Is Andy Burnham already becoming a bit…. Trudeau The kitsch aesthetics, leaning into popular culture a little bit too heavily, relatively vacuous policy… it’s starting to feel a little bit Justin.
