SWAPO Party continues to value sisterly relations from sister Parties and sister countries; emphasizing the need for economic transformation and accelerated socioeconomic development.

In pictures 📸 SG has earlier today received a courtesy visit from Hon. Monica Mutsvangwa, the Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small & Medium Enterprises Development of Zimbabwe & Secretary for Admin. in the ZANU-Pf Women’s League, during her official visit to Namibia.

These ties have since 1990, culminated into diplomatic relations between Namibia and Vietnam which continues to grow from strength to strength.

The historic relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and SWAPO stems from shared anti-colonial, anti-imperialist, and socialist-oriented struggles during the Cold War era.

Bilateral Exchanges📌 His Excellency Cuong Hoang, Ambassador of Socialist Republic of Vietnam accredited to the Republic of Namibia paid a courtesy visit to comrade Sophia Shaningwa, the Secretary General of SWAPO Party, on 10 February 2026.

Today 16 January 2026, with a heavy heart, I have signed a book of condolences opened at the SWAPO Headquarters, in honour & memory of Mzee Mathias Kanana Hishoono, a gallant freedom fighter & one of the most distinguished veterans of the National Liberation Struggle of Namibia.
