Prep Football 3A State Playoffs Sedro Woolley 28, White River 7 The Cubs took care of business at home on Saturday, advancing into the quarterfinals to face top ranked O’Dea. A balanced offensive attack resulted in two rushing and two passing scores for the Cubs. Stiff defense by the Cubs limited the opposition to only 7 points, capped off by a Kolyn Rochester INT to seal the victory. Head coach Dave Ward commented, "When we were down by a touchdown early in the game, Quarterback Cliff Tadema went to his good friend and reliable receiver Ethan DeJong to kick start the offense. We knew Cliff to Ethan was a mismatch in our favor, and we had used it sparingly, until now. The offensive line did an admirable job protecting Cliff and he found his receivers or scampered for valuable yards when needed. Kolyn Rochester found the end zone, three times, two by pass and one by run. His cherry on top was an interception late in the game, for the second week in a row, to help secure the win. The team defense deserves special mention for its execution. The toughness and determination of Tyler Holt and Jae Thompson led a determined group of Cub defenders." In all three phases of the game, the Cubs exemplified their team motto: GDAT (Grit, Discipline, Accountability, Trust) Stats: Passing: Cliff Tadema 14-19, 200 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT @clifftadema0 Rushing: Tyler Holt: 13 rush, 54 yds @tyler_holt21379 Kolyn Rochester: 8 rush, 14 yds, TD @KolynRoche80051 Cliff Tadema: 4 rush, 16 yds, TD Jae Thompson: 2 rush, 5 yds Tycen Bock: 1 rush, 1 yd @BockTycen83720 Receiving: Kolyn Rochester: 2 rec, 31 yds, 2 TDs Briley Eastwood: 3 rec, 15 yds @Briley_000 Ethan DeJong: 6 rec, 119 yds @Ethan11DeJong Santiago Salas: 1 rec, 8 yds Tyler Holt: 2 rec, 27 yds Defense: Lachlan McCrea: 15 tackles Tyler Holt: 10 tackles Camden Howell: 7 tackles, INT Kolyn Rochester: INT Tycen Bock: 7 tackles, Sack Chase Chambers: 11 tackles Kicking: Zavala: 4/4 PAT @dre_aungst12 @SWCubsFootball @SWHSCubsDen
