@KevHolmesFleet Indeed, using so-called dark fibres for seismology has been part of a lot of research in DAS recently.

As wave specialists, seismologists map the structure of #planets from the information that seismic #waves carry. Now, the team led by ETH professor Andreas Fichtner is also using this knowledge for medical imaging. @ETH_ERDW ethz.ch/en/news-and-ev…

Andreas is currently at the @egripcamp in Greenland to deploy seismometers and a DAS cable on the North-East Greenland Ice Stream. More details will follow after this exciting experiment but here are some first impressions of Andreas' fascinating trip! #science #geophysics
