At the UN Security Council debate on the protection of civilians, over 85 states, led by Jordan, Brazil, China, France, Kazakhstan, and South Africa, along with the ICRC, issued a warning, stating that respect for international humanitarian law is eroding and demands immediate political action. As part of the ongoing response since July 2025, #SyrianArabRedCrescent has distributed non-food items to 1,524 displaced families from #Sweida and returning families not previously assisted, with support from #UNHCR.

As water scarcity grows and climate change impacts water availability, #SyrianArabRedCrescent are sharing key messages on reducing daily water use, drought impacts. Since early 2026, outreach has reached 3,305 people in Lattakia, with support from #IFRC.

For people returning & rebuilding after displacement, Trusted information is as important as aid. In Ash-Shiekh Maqsoud, I saw how community centres help families understand available services, access support & reconnect w/ their communities. This is recovery at community level.

The @ICRC launched a workshop on "Protecting Essential Service Providers and Facilitating Their Safe Access During Conflict in Urban Areas" in partnership with the @SyrMOfE, @SyRedCrescent, and @rodekorsnorge with participation from key Syrian ministries.

The @ICRC, with the @SYRedCrescent , provided emergency support to ensure an uninterrupted water supply in Ain al-Arab/Kobani. Urgent electrical cables replaced damaged ones at two pumping stations, securing safe, continuous water access for around 400,000 people.
