I'm thankful for Sam and Tola's care in working in this story and bringing these things to light. I am also so thankful to all the many many people who spoke to Premier on and off the record. There are so many more painful stories besides mine. This is just scratching the surface

Premier's news editor @Tola_Mbakwe and I have been working on this story for a number of weeks. Grateful to everyone who took the time to share with us, both on and off the record premierchristian.news/en/news/articl…

This is a fair observation and I experienced my share of sexism at OH. But the wider cultural issues there are bigger than gender. Men and women suffered bullying while I was there. Fwiw having that particular person on LT made things worse in my experience.

@JulianM39314109 @S_E_Tooth @OakHillLondon It’s also terribly sad that there’s only one woman on the @OakHillLondon Leadership Team and only one woman on the Teaching Faculty. Why? Is this a deliberate policy? There’s no shortage of gifted female Christian leaders, nor of gifted female academics in relevant fields.

@PrettySophieK My favourite part of LBF was someone passing the stand, reading @PrettySophieK's title and saying "blessed are the neurodivergent...heck yes we are!"

"The simple sentence, 'I was wrong' can make a sig difference in the culture of a church/institution. A setting where mistakes are accepted, real apologies are quickly & sincerely offered, & clear repentance & change is at work is a place that models the power of the gospel."

I also read to them from an article I'd written on my vision of theological education and hopes for my students, which can be found here: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/efac.org.au/images/docs/Es…

I'm so thankful to be working alongside wonderful colleagues both @wtctheology & @IVPbookcentre. God has so thoroughly redeemed the pain of my experiences. I am doing work I love, with people I deeply respect. It felt right to commemorate that when a year ago things were so dark.

I still believe in theological education. And I'm so deeply thankful to be teaching at @wtctheology My first day teaching there Lucy Peppiatt described what the classroom culture should be saying, "We're really happy at WTC to say 'I don't know'."

A year ago my lovely students organised a farewell for me. I said this: "I would have loved to be working still - every day in the classroom was an absolute delight. I'm really missing teaching and engaging with each of you." I still miss it and them.

@CoryMMarsh2 @JPHowardSr A. I didn't choose this clip. B. It was in the middle of a conversation about why people avoid certain texts. C. I was pointing out people's real experiences with what I'd hope even you would agree is very poor teaching. D. Your criticism of me was based on one tiny clip.

Too many scholars reject or mock a rapture position based purely on a fallacy of fear: it scared them as a kid. My response: And?…

@LittleLauraMcK @PrettySophieK Yes this is so spot on! Those who experience trauma of all sorts so often have to be the ones educating and advocating (and defending themselves when they don't meet others' expectations).

When you're speaking to someone about a diagnosis they've received, please don't immediately jump into "you can use this experience to help minister to others". Let them come to that themselves, in time and in the space of loving friends and family, not almost strangers.
