Withdrawal of #Gepatschferner tongue (Tirol, Austria) over the last 3 years 😰 Thinning and discharge is just mind-blowing in 2022! 🥵 It is the 2nd largest glacier in Austria, and one of the site where #Holocene variations are best known in the Alps Video via @S_Haselberger

Here we go - new footage from the #GepatschFerner in #Kaunertal. Video shows retreat of glacier tongue for summer month of 2020-2022. As expected, August and September 2022 were devastating. Cameras run by @phusicos, @univienna, @UniGraz (Martin Mergili)
