@smartnakamoura You missed one key layer Address verification Capture is not enough Validation and physical verification matters Without it, KYC is still incomplete

Most devs think KYC is "let the user upload their ID." The CBN's 2026 Baseline Standards say otherwise. A compliant onboarding flow now looks like this: → Capture NIN/BVN details → Real-time identity verification + BVN-NIN harmonization check → Liveness detection (deepfake and spoofing prevention) → AML screening: sanctions, PEPs, adverse media → Dynamic risk scoring → Instant approval or conditional review → Ongoing real-time transaction monitoring KYC isn't a step. It's a system. Build it that way from day one or rebuild it later under regulatory pressure.

NIBSS: The Infrastructure Nobody Explains Every Nigerian bank transfer goes through NIBSS. Every single one. Most devs building in Nigeria have never actually understood what NIBSS is or how it works. Here's the breakdown: NIBSS IPSL — Instant Payment Service Layer. This is the real-time rail. When you send money and it arrives in seconds, this is what moved it. NIBSS NIP — Nigeria Interbank Payment. Settles across banks. The backbone of every interbank transfer you've ever made. BVN infrastructure — NIBSS owns it. Every BVN query your app makes hits their system. Which is why when NIBSS is slow, KYC onboarding slows across every platform simultaneously. Settlement windows — Not everything is instant at the settlement layer even when it looks instant to users. The accounting finalizes in windows. Single point of failure — When NIBSS has an incident, the entire Nigerian payment ecosystem feels it at once. Every fintech. Every bank. Same moment. This is the infrastructure your app depends on but doesn't control. Design around it: async flows, graceful degradation, proper error messaging when rails are down. "Unable to process" is not good enough. "Our payment partner is experiencing delays your money is safe and we'll complete this automatically" is what trust looks like. Save this. Understanding NIBSS is non-negotiable if you're building payments in Nigeria.

Once it gets to threats like that, it’s no longer about “who is right” It’s about safety Bringing out phones and daring him might feel justified, but it can escalate things fast Better to de-escalate and get out You’re dealing with someone who has already shown zero regard for consequences

Nigerian Police officer driving a public transport bus in Lagos with a police uniform carried passengers and started thr£aten!ng them that he’ll kp@! them and d0mp their b0d!es inside r!ver because they asked him why he suddenly stopped in the middle of the road💔💔 The poster captioned: “ We were literally dropped in the middle of the road because the driver wanted to buy fuel, without any proper explanation or concern for our safety. When people understandably began to question what was going on, instead of calming the situation, he became aggr£ssive and started issuing thr£ats saying he would kp@! us and d0mp our b0d!es into the water near Eko Bridge”

UBA did wonders by declaring zero final dividend and is now about to be judged as I post this video. Fasten your seatbelts, and brace up for impact. But this could also be a wealth transfer opportunity from the fearful to the bold. Fingers crossed.

@S_oloche @ThaBoyYom @oku_yungx Don’t mind some of our medical practitioners and dietitians, they move like sadists, instead of talking about portion control, they want people to avoid everything, I bet they haven’t heard too much water is also not good so soon it’s “avoid water” too.

@AsakyGRN It’s not about age Leadership is not about how old you are It’s about the influence you carry And from a spiritual angle, people don’t respond to age They respond to what they believe you represent That’s what you’re seeing here

Morning reminder about API design 🧏🏾‍♂️: Your API is a product. Not a technical artifact. The developer using your API is your user. Their experience matters. Clear error messages: your UX. Consistent response format: your design system. Good documentation: your onboarding flow. Versioning: your backwards compatibility promise. Build your API like someone you respect will use it tomorrow. Because someone will.
