Addressed the India-Japan Conclave today and highlighted how the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership has evolved into a trusted pillar of regional progress - moving beyond economic cooperation towards the creation of integrated urban ecosystems. From shaping the success story of the Delhi Metro to collaborating on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project, Japan’s technology, expertise and long-term vision have played a significant role in India’s infrastructure transformation. As Delhi transitions from being merely a “metro city” to a smart, resilient and future-ready metropolis, there is immense potential to deepen cooperation in areas such as smart mobility, sustainable urban development and disaster resilience - sectors where Japan’s innovation and experience can offer valuable solutions. Envisioned the next phase of India-Japan collaboration around integrated regional development, where emerging hubs like Dwarka can evolve into vibrant destinations for Japanese companies, research institutions and technology centres, reflecting our shared commitment towards a sustainable and globally connected future. As Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji has said, India and Japan are “natural partners”. This enduring bond with mutual respect, shared ambition, and collective purpose is strengthening.

Humbled to participate in the see-off ceremony and flag off the first 2026 Jatha of pilgrims for the Sri Hemkunt Sahib Yatra from Rishikesh today at the sacred Gurdwara Sahib. This historic annual pilgrimage holds profound spiritual significance for devotees across the globe, and it was deeply gratifying to be present alongside the Sangat as the journey commenced under the guidance of the Panj Pyare. On the occasion also fondly recalled my own journey to Hemkund Sahib with my father Sardar Bishan Singh Samundri in 1975. Interacted with the yatris, conveyed my best wishes for their journey, and prayed for the safety, good health and spiritual fulfillment of all devotees undertaking this challenging yet rewarding yatra in the high-altitude Himalayas to the holy shrine of Sri Hemkunt Sahib.

In just one and a half months, this citizen-centric initiative has delivered visible interventions across critical traffic corridors, resolving long-standing congestion and encroachment issues through extensive stakeholder engagement and institutionalized grievance reviews. Chaired the 8th meeting of the Court of @dtu_delhi . The Court deliberated upon several issues of current and prospective academic importance. Appreciated the initiatives being undertaken in emerging fields such as AI and IoT, while advising the University to foster a startup and incubation ecosystem that is practical, financially viable, and focused on addressing people’s needs. Also exhorted the institution to intensify research and innovation aimed at developing specific and cost-effective solutions to Delhi’s pressing challenges, including air pollution, energy transition, sewage management, and traffic congestion. As the Capital’s premier technology university, Delhi Technological University can contribute meaningfully towards the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, as envisaged by Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, and strive to build a seamless Academia-Industry-Government-Community partnership.
