What started in one Bank is now spreading.
From UPGB to Haryana Gramin Bank and if unchecked, it may soon reach other banks.
Listen this viral audio carefully
Reportedly from HGB- Nuh RM is heard saying:
→ Mention your last leave taken
→ Mention your last year’s growth
→ No need to take leave… manage it
→ We don’t have staff to approve leaves
Now we are seeing something unheard of:
→ Leave requests being linked to performance
→ Employees asked to disclose leave history
→ Growth numbers being demanded before granting leave
Since when did leave become a reward?
→ Leave is not a bonus.
→ Leave is not an incentive.
→ Leave is a basic right of an employee.
What’s more concerning is the silence.

A direct question to PNB:
Is this the work culture being encouraged?
Or is this happening with silent approval?
Because silence at the top often becomes pressure at the bottom.
Let’s be honest.
This is not about discipline.
This is about impressing higher authorities, showing “control” over staff to chase promotions, PLI, and visibility.
But leadership is not about fear.
Leadership is not about denying basic rights.
Banking is already under pressure:
• Staff shortage
• High targets
• Compliance burden
• Public dealing stress
And now employees must “justify” even their leave?
This is not professionalism. This is institutional pressure.
If this trend continues, it won’t improve performance
it will only increase burnout, frustration, and silent resentment.
Time to ask tough questions.
