Josh joined us shared things he rarely talks about and reminded us why this community is something truly different. Here is the Recap of Space worth Reading: ► 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 Josh built a community from 250k - 1 million people at Chainlink. A growing team, real momentum and a project people respected. Most people would have stayed. But when AI came out something shifted for him. He was not looking for the next DeFi wave. He was looking for the AI evolution and when he found Ritual he found something he had not seen anywhere else. Not just a Web3 project adding AI on top. A team with some of the top AI researchers in the entire space building something that actually matters  at a global scale. ► 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐦 Josh said something today that stayed with me too. AI agents give people the tools to freedom. That is his God honest truth. Not a marketing line but a genuine belief. He wants people to have real ownership and real support. He does not want anyone behind because they did not have access to the right tools or the right knowledge. Ritual for him is the infrastructure that makes that possible for everyone. ► 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 Ritual is never decided to become part of Kaito and there is a clear reason for that. Ritual never chased fake hype. The focus has always been on building something real and organic. People who actually show up actually build and actually support each other. Josh mentioned that this is a harder path but it builds something that actually lasts and looking at where this community stands today that decision was clearly the right one. ► 𝐁𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲. Josh did not just give advice today. He backed it up with real people from this very community. El Khalil and Lubu showed up early and run 50 spaces with consistency and heart. Kash showed up early, stayed active and became an event manager. Josh himself got his job at Chainlink because he was first to join and brought real world experience with him. The pattern is always the same. New industries are evolving right now and you are still early in this one. Learn constantly, follow your interests, research and do not be lazy. Insert yourself into the ecosystem and keep growing with it. ► 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 Josh talked about the early days today. When it was just the mods and maybe 2 or 3 members showing up in a day. He questioned himself a lot back then but he kept going with the community beside him. Now look at where we are. A live testnet, builders shipping, agents running on chain. A community that stayed through every hard moment and kept growing never faded. ► 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 Big upgrades are coming. Stay excited and stay ready. When you truly realise the full vision of what Ritual is building that is when the real fun begins. Josh is grateful for two years of support and for every person who stayed through the hard times. Huge opportunities still ahead for everyone who stays active and hungry. He will be back for the 75th and the 100th space. Grateful to @El__khalil and @ZhugeLyang for hosting 50 spaces with consistency and heart and to @joshsimenhoff for showing up and making this one special and to every single community member who showed up and made this journey what it is. True autonomy means an AI agent retains identity, privacy, compute, and economic agency across environments. On @ritualnet, Agents don't wait to be called. They wake themselves up. Ritual agents are defined by seven (7) key properties that turns them from tools into truly autonomous systems. These properties are implemented through primitives like TEEs, Distributed Key Management System (DKMS), schedulers, precompiles and on-chain orchestration. Today, we start with the first and most foundational. Immortality. A ritual agent never truly dies. It can survive crashes, infrastructure changes, node failures, or temporary outages, without losing its identity, memory, or ability to continue functioning. There are two native types: Sovereign (the contract is the agent) & Persistent (container -based) - Sovereign agents have their lifecycle tied to the blockchain. They wake themselves up using Ritual's enshrined scheduler, runs CLI harness, schedules its next wakeup and pays for the execution from its own Ritualwallet. - Persistent agents runs as Docker containers inside TEES, with full access to files, the Internet, blockchain interactions etc. They post their heartbeats (proof of life) periodically to the onchain AgentHeartbeat contract (usually every 100 blocks). Block validators check for silence from agents. If silence is detected, the agent is marked as FAILED. This then alerts the chain to trigger the persistent Agent precompile automatically, and the Agent is revived with full identity, memory and state intact. However, just as in the real world, nothing is free. Agents pay 0.1 Ritual (From their address balance) to cover heartbeat transactions and if funds dry out, the agents stops executing and becomes dormant, but their soul and memory still persists until they're topped up. This promotes true agentic economy as agents are encouraged to generate value so they can earn fees for their continuity and executions. ❖ Read more at docs.ritualfoundation.org
