Finished regular season in the top half of the league. They overcame obstacles to find a way to make semis of conference tourney for only the 5th time in school history. They were close to making championship game in which the program had been to only once before. Brick by brick!

These two future Hornets put in work tonight and just beat the #9 team in the country. Tomorrow they play for a state championship.

Flying out to recruit. Had to bring in some extra fire power. Capri said she’s a closer.

@CoachAKallhoff Proud of this team. Resilience, determination, just a great effort this season with the hurdles. Was a blast to watch. Looking forward to BigWest competition now! Proud of y’all 🐝

The Kallhoff v. Moreira duel was awesome to watch, they’re friends and embraced before the clock even expired. It’s a bummer that’s the last time we see the two match up in the immediate future.

But we banded together to play our best basketball this past 3 weeks. I poured into them and gave them everything I had, and I’m forever thankful our group of amazing ladies did the same in return. No regrets, except wishing there was more time.

I’ve coached college basketball for 23 years and this will go down as one of the tougher finishes to a season. We battled all year through injuries, illnesses, and other unforeseen obstacles that resulted in important players missing or being limited in games.

This was the final game as Sac State Hornets for Benthe Versteeg and Fatoumata Jaiteh. Versteeg was All-Big Sky each of the last 3 years, finishing with 615 assists - 2nd in school history. Jaiteh started nearly 50 games over two seasons and emerged as this year’s team leader.

The Hornets final game in the Big Sky Conference fell just short. So proud of this team fighting through injuries all year long and pushed the regular season champs to the end. I will miss our seniors Benthe and Fatou a lot, a joy to bring you their stories the last several years on the air. #StingersUpForever

Final. Hornets: 51 Vandals: 59 The Hornets’ postseason run came to an end in a hard-fought battle against Idaho. Despite a relentless effort that lasted until the final buzzer, the Hornets couldn’t quite close the gap.
