It's here! Collaborating on this special issue with @prof_erikalee was a truly fantastic experience. The articles reexamine the 1921 and 1924 immigration acts a century after their passage within the framework of settler colonialism, empire building, & white supremacy.

@comfortstarr @BullyCreative Libraries can serve different functions. Example, Arlington Hills Library in St Paul is part of SPPL system and a couple of blocks away, East Side Freedom Library, a community-based library that focuses on labor history, immigration history, and social movements.

Tear down that former 3rd precinct monstrosity and build the biggest most state of the art library in the state, employ people from the neighborhood as staff. Everybody invited, everybody welcome, nobody terrorized and violated. Isn't a phoenix supposed to rise from ash?

Saddened to hear the passing of Franklin Odo. I had the privilege of meeting and chatting with him many times while working at @aaas. Forever grateful for his work in pioneering Asian American Studies. #restinpower

@Quincetessence Yep, I've seen new ones established based on other common bonds. A lot of it is by younger (40s-50s year olds) that reject the organizational structures of the older family-based orgs.
