Last week, I heard @nytdavidbrooks speak @RadInstitute and I found these stats valuable as we pay respect to areas improving: “Schools in blue states like California, Oregon and Washington are languishing, but schools in red states like Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Louisiana, traditional laggards, are suddenly doing remarkably well. Roughly 52 percent of Mississippi’s Black fourth graders read at grade level, compared with only 28 percent in California. Louisiana is the only state where fourth-grade achievement levels have returned to prepandemic levels.”

Hydrogen is the future, and a woman born in 1900 helped us better to come to that realization. Cecilia Helena Payne (born 10th of May, 1900 to a Prussian mother and English father) went against the conventional wisdom of her time and determined that hydrogen was the main composition of the stars... as well as the universe. Payne was neither able to obtain a degree from The University of Cambridge nor her PhD degree from Harvard, despite completing all academic requirements, due to unfair policies towards women.
