HSE respond to calls for ‘full independent review’ of Portiuncula maternity services - Jessica Mercer Councillors broached the topic with the argument that an independent assessment is called for at the hospital’s maternity unit. Cllr Harney made particular reference to the Walker report, which was commissioned by the HSE’s Chief Clinical Director following a preliminary review into the care provided to six women whose babies were referred from PUH for Therapeutic Hypothermia (head cooling) in 2014. I really hope this isn’t the case BUT if anyone is doing these threats in the name of #JusticeForHarvey please don’t. This kind of thing is completely unacceptable and when there are kids involved too it’s just disgusting. We have previously said that our issues with Simon Harris have always been political and not personal and if anyone is using Harvey’s name for this kind of carry on you are doing him a massive disservice.
