Building a future where humans and elephants coexist is not just a conservation goal—it’s a necessity.
We are proud to share that the Human–Elephant Coexistence Project by SAGE Foundation has taken a meaningful step forward with the launch of a specially designed comic book aimed at creating awareness among primary school children about the importance of forests and elephants.
The initiative was formally launched at Shankarnagar Primary School under the Gadchiroli district landscape—an area increasingly witnessing human-elephant interactions.
Through engaging storytelling and relatable characters, the comic book introduces young minds to:
The importance of forests (jungles) in sustaining life.
The ecological role of elephants as keystone species.
The need for peaceful coexistence between communities and wildlife.
What makes this effort impactful is its focus on early education—because lasting change begins with awareness at a young age.
This is more than just a book launch. It is a step towards building empathy, reducing conflict, and nurturing a generation that understands and respects nature.
Grateful to all partners, educators, and community members who made this possible.
