Another reason why vesting locks don't help - locked assets will be sold off the public markets anyways (creating more information asymmetry between the public and informed insiders).

@zachxbt @adrianbrink It is worth noting that they have two projects. 1) Anoma - which has exactly all the declared investments. This project's token has lockups and vestings. 2) Namada is a project without investment. Here is a token with 100% unlocking. Thats strange

You act as if 100% unlock at TGE has never been done before and is some sort of innovation. According to your Discord you will just launch another scam token for Anoma. Exactly why people do not take Cosmos seriously as an ecosystem anymore. Only thing I wonder is if there will be a gentleman agreement between large holders at launch to pretend this works in the short term (which is worse than vesting as retail has zero insight into this)

@Ether_Gavin @zenerbabax @adrianbrink So let them then change the tokenomics of Anoma, because both @adrianbrink @cwgoes wrote about how they like the idea of a “fair” price for Namada. I just see an inconsistency in this: in one case there is responsibility to investors, and in the other only to the community.

@zenerbabax @adrianbrink guessing it's easier to start with a lock schedule and loosen it than vice versa, but more likely is that thinking may have changed after 3.5y bc didn't the first raise happen in 2020? the Anoma agreement would have been made before Namada was conceived

I’m very skeptical that locking improves the fundamental economics of any token. It just distorts the economics and is most likely net negative. The last 6 months would have been significantly better if everything was fully liquid. #FreeMarketRadical

Tbh my timeline was covered with posts 2 weeks ago suggesting that teams should do exactly this to stave off the "high FDV, low float" curse that has followed certain projects around for years. Now that someone's actually doing it the whole TL is up in arms about it 🤷‍♂️

I’m a big fan of voluntary locks that protocols can offer. That’s an actual useful liquidity sink, rather than pretending that vesting changes the underlying economics.
