A ‘no cuts’ budget! Protecting services local people value, investing in our borough after successfully lobbying our government for £61.5m more for day to day spending. We’ve achieved a great deal together and we have more to do!!

Every home is socially rented and having a permanent place to call home meant so much to the family we met that day.

🏡 @KamRai7 visited Little Gearies where we’ve delivered 103 brand‑new council homes for residents in urgent need of safe, long‑term housing - part of 600 new council homes completed across the borough over the last year. 🔑 This is Redbridge in Action, every day, done well.

❄️ In the cold weather, it's important to help those without a warm place to sleep. Rough sleeping is complex and while we know and are able support most of those on our streets, permanent housing takes time especially for those who can’t access public funds.

Housing demand remains high but this year @RedbridgeLive has made real progress through prevention-first action, targeted support, fewer households in temp accommodation & sustained supply. A promising end to 2025 delivering affordable homes at Loxford Lane with Lovell & the GLA

1 in 4 women have been sexually assaulted since the age of 16 and yet appalling low rates of conviction mean that many survivors never get justice. Many women and girls feel they cannot report their experience of sexual violence - that authorities will dismiss their case and court proceedings will re-traumatise them. I asked the Solicitor General @elliereeves how the govt. plans to combat low levels of reporting and conviction so that all survivors get the justice they deserve.

We have a @UKLabour govt that is listening, and striving to repair 14 years of Tory damage to renew Britain. This winter we will be able to help more homeless families and rough sleepers thanks to this extra funding. We’ll continue to work for more resources in Redbridge.

Finally, a govt who believe children deserve the best start in life. As part of the Plan for Change- Redbridge has been awarded £170k from govt to open one of the first Best Start Family Hubs! This is what renewal looks like, this is what working with a Labour govt looks like.

It was a pleasure to open our first women’s only gym - Serenity in Ilford, this morning. For many reasons women and girls might want or need their own space and our fantastic gym does that and includes a lounge, showers, changing rooms, studio and lots of exercise equipment !

This week we held our regular Ilford Town Street Surgery, focusing on fly-tipping, noise, neighbourhood & housing issues. Officers shared updates on casework & outcomes of complaints. Residents welcomed the joined-up approach & real progress on the ground.
