@Beeburn22 Someone neeeds to do a deep dive on DeanGaga and see if they’ve actually played the games

I have just finished reading the alleged leaked script for Zach Cregger's "Resident Evil". Based on the trailer and what we know from Cregger, I think its a legitimate version of the script. If it is, prepare yourselves for the most generic, hollow take on Resident Evil we have seen. This makes Paul W.S. Anderson's movies look like Oscar-winning adaptations. This is truly only Resident Evil in name with one quick mention to tie it in. What this actually is is a inconsequential horror monster film, borrowing heavily from things we have seen better executed in other movies and even games. There is no substance here. From the main character Bryan and his motivation, to the entire plot, we get nothing of any interest. Playing "House of the Dead" will serve you up a better story and characters than this. I personally think this is not going to do well with critics. This is the worst form of vapid 90s-esque action horror I have read / seen. Worst of all, all of us RE fans were right. This has zero to do with Resident Evil. Cregger placing it during a certain point in the timeline only makes it even more glaringly out of place. This is a boring film, even as just a general horror film, and I suspect that will be quickly forgotten.

Oh and it gets worse 😭😭😭

Reading the Resident Evil movie script now and I am not impressed so far Not jizzing either….

I like the implication that people think Cregger is “using” the Resident Evil name just to sell an original horror movie. Ignoring that Barbarian and Weapons are successes on their own, the average movie goer associates Resident Evil with the worst movies ever made.

RE fans want a 100% movie adaptation of the games because they haven’t played them

The Resident Evil discourse brings back memories… “Fans are stupidity”, “We know better”, “He is an amazing director and you should give it a chance!”, “You don’t deserve anything!”, “It wasn’t made for you!”. Where have I heard this crap before?

Zach Cregger wanted his upcoming Resident Evil film to feature the perspective of a relatable, normal person rather than a "military badass" like the games of do. Check out a breakdown of the trailer with the director: bit.ly/49iZTJc

Zach Cregger explains that his ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ movie isn’t adapting any of the games as it would be redundant. “There’s kind of no winning there if I were to tell Leon’s story, because the games do such a great job. It would just be kind of redundant &… disappointing.”
