the ultras is crap, they have no reaction to whats going on in the game, which is what makes the english atmosphere so good, its so reactionary. Pinning another team in and winning a corner and going bonkers just to not beat the first man, wouldnt have it any other way

Its unpredictable, go on a run, have that spirit needed in Champ, if we don't win promotion this season, it really isn't the be all,end all. Sure we may lose a couple, but we've always lost best players in PL

1. Because we lose an ungodly amount of revenue next season if we fail to be promoted. 2. We end up losing our best players. 3. We end up keeping our worst players. 4. We suddenly stop winning all the time and instead start falling down the table. 5. Derby, Wednesday, us in 2009, none of the above ends very well. The only reason #Saintsfc fans love the Championship so much (beyond the cope-ium) is because we win constantly. The key is signing good players, not taking stupid gambles, not having a manager who insists on playing total football with James Bree and Tall Paul - and actually competing. Like we did from 2012 to 2021. Also yes you should care what division we're in - staying down means losing our best players, not progressing, becoming a lower mid table Championship team. You mention your lad not liking us losing every week - just wait until we're losing every week in the Championship ala Leicester/West Brom.

Look i get financially the club need to be PL, but I'm sick to death of it, and personally much prefer lower leagues. It's much closer to the game I fell in love with than the PL circus

The vast gap between established PL teams and Champ teams is almost impossible to bridge. You can't but PL ready

I know this will sound like sour grapes, but genuinely didn't hear a peep out of their end for about 80 minutes of that game. One of the weirdest atmosphere's for a cup final, same can be said of the walk back to the tube, they weren't even celebrating like a normal fanbase, most of them didn't look like they wanted to be there. Hope the FA Cup final is a bigger spectacle, whoever is in it.

Anyone who actually goes football knows this lot are actually class, yes bad at home but all English teams are bar a few anyway

@AlfieHouseEcho I totally agree, I despise the PL. But all these kids believing it's the only place to be. I support Saints, but I want enjoyment, goals, occasional wins, no VAR , and competitive football. PL isn't that, it's a bore fest, with zero atmosphere. I haven't missed it one bit
