@ItsToriGalvin That's in my opinion the healthy and right mindset to have when it comes to these things. You will always have the original material for those kinds of fans and new material for new fans to gain an accessible entry point to the franchise.

I would embrace it bc it’s just that. An adaptation. I have the games to play and enjoy and that story to go back to. Im not saying you have to enjoy it. I might not like it but at the end of the day it’s a movie. Not a game. The same with uncharted I liked the movie but I thought the casting was all wrong. But it’s done that way bc of Hollywood and wanting to grab a different audience as well as gaming fans. It’s okay to like both or either one. As I said doesn’t make you any less of a fan with some people seem to think it does.

Not to hate on anyone or anything but Alice was also an original character and people hated on those RE movies too. I swear I was the only one who enjoyed them growing up. At the end of the day I think there is always gonna be complaints about game to screen adaptations

@ItsToriGalvin That's my approach/view on it too. In the end, it's good for the IP/series to gain more fans and make it stronger, by making it more accessible in certain ways. But a lot of hardcore fans on any series tend to not like change/things to feel very different from the source.

I disagree, you can still be a hardcore fan and simply accept it is an adaptation. The games are very near and dear to me. I’m not saying the films are perfect bc they weren’t. But people shouldn’t assume you are any less of a fan of something just for liking or disliking an adaptation

@ItsToriGalvin If a movie director made a Kingdom Hearts live-action movie and really gave it a very different direction, to the point of barely recognizing anything from the games (with a lot of fans criticizing it), would you react the same as those fans or embrace this new direction?

@ItsToriGalvin I think it depends how much you like a certain IP. If you just casually like RE, you are more open to RE being whatever they want it to be and your stance on it is more neutral. On the other hand, if you are a hardcore fan, people often don't like a lot of changes happening.

@jack439xfoc @DawnwalkerGame It's not close. Dawnwalker has much more detail. Put both games side by side and look closely. Dawnwalker's foliage, ground textures, facial details, forests, look considerably better. As a result it's looking more gritty and heavy in a sense. CD looks floaty and clay-like

@Sakuganoob @DawnwalkerGame visual quality is quite close, with both games having their own negatives from what ive seen (with dawnwalker, ive played cd myself on maxed settings). Doesn’t feel that big of a improvement to justify these reqs, i think we can agree on that regardless of other things

⚙ System requirements

@jack439xfoc @DawnwalkerGame That game does not look as good as Dawnwalker. Just take one look at both games forests. In Dawnwalker the forest areas look much denser, more detailed and more things going on. In CD, everything looks lightweight in a sense.

@DawnwalkerGame Crimson Desert - 4k 60fps on ultra with the same gpus you guys achieve 1440p 60fps. UE5 incident by definition. Sad stuff

@Trance1349 @Hal10100067 @DawnwalkerGame It's native 1440p ultra settings (highest setting I assume) running at 60 fps. What is not decent about it? A 4080 is not a 5090. I think your expectations/demands far exceeds reality. With DLSS you can most likely run in 4K with ease.

@Hal10100067 @DawnwalkerGame Sure, i get it, but would be cool if ... after spending 1.5k for a GPU you would get actual decent performance out of it on any given game, in 1440p no less, not even 4K without any framegen or upscaling.

@ItsToriGalvin I would go for the Switch 2. They did a good job with the port. Plus, if your back is less taxed playing handheld, your enjoyment will be greater.

Okay so question I kinda wanna get it on switch 2 as it’s on sale and I’m trying to build up switch 2 library, I don’t have a pro only a ps5 so is it worth getting on switch 2 or still ps5. Please bare in mind I’m still recovering from spinal surgery so limited to how long I can sit and game at my desk also
