Which is a main reason why people use Google over Bing because of the quality of information.

So stop putting AI as a bad technology, everyone. People often take the super shitty model with no CoT reasoning mode and use it to assess the entire field. Embrace technology please. And for google search, we deliberately want fast results, no one would use google search for logical reasoning problems. Obviously, google AI overview is meant to summarize results from different websites, it acts like a summarizer. For real and hard problems, please use capable models, which are actually pretty capable, Gemini or any other CoT model could solve hyper tough physics/STEM problems 100s of times faster and better than humans.
