The TGL has seen a massive ratings decline over the first 2 events of the new season. Week 1 fell from 919k on ESPN to 646k on ABC, a decline of nearly 30%. Week 2 fell from 1.05m on ESPN (with Tiger) to just 354k on ESPN 2 (without Tiger), a decline of nearly 65%. It’s also worth noting that the numbers from 2025 were panel only, and this year they are panel plus big data which adds an estimated 5% to the viewership. What are your thoughts on this? I deleted the original post and blurred the hat’s embroidery a bit. It’s a little less obvious to the casual scroller. I thought the stories were worth noting, but they didn’t need the exact image of the hat.

I am a member of a couple of private courses. My advice to guests is fairly simple- when in doubt, error conservative. Scenario #1 A couple of months ago I invited someone to join me at Belleair. That person showed up with a knock-off Titleist hat (shown below). The worst part- I didn’t even notice the hat’s embroidery until after the round in the parking lot and my heart sank. I had introduced him to several female members and our head pro. I spent the rest of my day writing formal apologies to our pro and the members introduced my guest to- explaining that I didn’t see it until after the round. Scenario #2 Years ago I was invited to play a famous club in the Southeast. My host asked me who I wanted to bring and a friend recommended that I take another golfer. The short of the story- that guest took photos of the course (which is permitted) and as soon as he left the gates of the club he posted them on social media (which is not). When asked to take them down he protested. He reluctantly took them down and then posted them again a couple months later. He was willing to jeopardize the member’s standing with the club for his own social media presence. Again I had to apologize because I invited him. It essentially was my fault. Error conservative - be a good person and be polite. Golf is the greatest game and golfers are the best people.
