Is it just me, or is there an unwritten rule in the school car park! Even when the car park is empty - we still go to 'our spot'

@Magdale03028309 We recommend loop in-ear plugs to secondary age pupils. A couple of Y11/13 students wear ear defenders in exams and aren’t at bothered by what other people say

So does anyone know of any autistic children who wear ear defenders successfully in school? I often recommend them but never have any feedback that young people will even wear them. I’m beginning to think it’s a pointless recommendation

@GillianKeegan Is that really the most important thing for you as Education minister, to be bothered with? Stick to facts - like the crisis in teacher retention, building safety and the rate of pupil absence, or are these just too difficult to fix?

Is it wrong that I’d rather spend time with my daughters mates when they’re partying at my home than with my work colleagues - asking for a friend?!?

@jamiesmart @quantick 'People never used to be allergic to peanuts' is a VERY odd hill to die on. As someone with a family member who has been to hospital (in the 80s and since) for this exact allergy, it makes me think the guy wasn't paying much attention.

I don’t know who this is but I knew plenty of kids who were deeply uncomfortable with their identity, who struggled with socialising and learning, and who had no end of stomach pains and illness. Difference was society didn’t know/care as much as it does now, you plum.

@MichaelT1979 We have TA posts unfilled because the pay is so poor. I couldn’t lead the team if it weren’t for my hubby as I regularly do more then my paid hrs - and am expected to do so. It can’t continue much longer

@NespressoUK just wondering if there is an issue with the Stormio bar code? At least 1 in every tube malfunctions.

@darynsimon In our experience, it is the parents who struggle more - not having immediate face2face contact with teachers, allowing their child freedom to walk to and from school alone, parent playground mafia meetings. The list goes on

Year 7s aren’t too ‘needy’ - they’re 11/12 year old kids trying to adapt to new ways of being in unfamiliar school environments. The system needs to better support that transition rather than chastise children for not coping with this enormous change.

@Oates27 Mine was always an angel at primary; they don’t do nativity at secondary so she became a teenager. I really hope she can be an angel again one day soon ……

Advice needed. My daughter has been cast as an angel in the school nativity. It's the second year in row and I'm concerned about typecasting at an early age, she's only 4...

@Creepy_jesu5 @anon_opin Quite happy with my Hotmail address. I do have others for work related emails, but for personal stuff this works for me. What I don’t have is a ridiculous, age defining handle before it!!

Work in a customer based role where asking for email addresses is frequent. The amount of people who still say 'all lower case…' is astounding. It didn't matter in 1997 Terry and it still doesn't matter now.

@simon_davies2 @Teacherglitter Her Dad did the first motorway drive with her, but she did a ‘magic’ roundabout independently and drives me frequently since passing. We spent so long together when she was learning that I miss that special time now

@Teacherglitter My daughter bought a car after she passed her test. I went with her to buy it. I also went with her the first time she drove on the Motorway.

@GillianKeegan @Conservatives So, if everything is so great, why are staff leaving in droves and more students failing to achieve their targets than ever before. Then there’s the SEN provision question ….

Under the @Conservatives, there are more opportunities to access high-quality technical education than ever before. Under Labour, there were no T Levels, no HTQs, no apprenticeship standards & no Skills Bootcamps. Why 🤔 We delivered them all.

The @Conservatives deliver: The most generous childcare package in history. The highest school funding ever. More high-quality technical education than ever before. We take the long-term decisions to create opportunities whilst the Labour party just play short-term politics.

@RogersHistory At my sixth form, the pub up the road had two rooms. On a Friday lunchtime, students (often underage) resolutely turned right, staff (meant to be working) turned left, and we all pretended that we never saw each other 🤣

I'm not suggesting teachers piling off to the pub on Friday lunchtime should be brought back... but I am suggesting a culture where everything is slightly less high stakes, rigid and robotic would be very cool. Just a bit more chill. There's something about the old days to me that says 'human' a bit more.

What some people don’t understand is that results and values go hand in hand. Yes, teaching methods and discipline are key. But so are our small c conservative values. If you look at the M&S advert and don’t see why I think it is abhorrent, then you don’t understand our school.

@Miss_Snuffy @marksandspencer Please stick to what you think you’re good at (being a headteacher) and don’t try to speak for others - particularly when many hate Christmas, work throughout it, get into debt over it, or are alone. You don’t speak for me

@eon_next I’m currently paying £60/m. My last monthly bill was £47.52 which left me £70.63 in credit. Why do you now feel increasing my dd payments to £84.55 is justified? This is a ridiculous and exorbitant increase to which I don’t agree. How do I refuse this increase?
