@LNER All trains south from Edinburgh cancelled.Tragedy for family and disruption to be expected. Does not excuse your absolute lack of customer support or service. 100s milling around Waverley with no information or help from you and staff just shrugging shoulders.

Had mad week, 2 grandchildren born few days apart with a measure of drama. Today snatching a bit of r&r but still put memo to self to do strong response to ticket offices consultation. Phew deadline extended to September 1st. A 3 week window was unconscionable and devious.

Wonder: a tpexpress train departed bang on time this evening. Bad news, I watched it while running to try to catch it after my connecting Avanti train was 8 mins late. More bad news: next tpe train cancelled. Result: 90 mins wait at Manchester Picc at night.

@JohnLewisRetail What has happened to JL customer service? Used to be so good now TERRIBLE. About to cancel quite a big order because of most awful lack of customer service. Really shocking when a large ish amount of money already spent .

Fmr Environment Sec George Eustice has spoken about the post-Brexit UK/Australia trade deal in the Commons. He says now no longer a minister: "I no longer have to put such a positive gloss on what was agreed...the Australia deal is not actually a very good trade deal for the UK."
